This gym certainly lives up to it’s name. A watery theme runs through the huge complex which includes a fantastic swimming pool area and sun deck.

Atlètic-Barceloneta Swimming Club (known locally as Gimnasio Barceloneta) is a member of the Catalan Swimming Federation and is a result of the merger of Atlètic Swimming Club, founded in 1913, and Barceloneta Amateur Club, founded in 1929. Very popular gym due to an unrivalled location. Many people make use of the proximity to the beach by leaving fresh clothes etc in the locker room and go to beach for a swim or a jog and then have a work out and clean up here afterwards. As the name suggests fantastic swimming facilities.

We have received a very strong recommendation for this gym....one of an impressive chain of gyms.

3,000 square metres of health and fitness facilities. We have heard this is no longer a gym to be recommneded. No air conditioning. 10 degrees hotter inside the gym than the street. Free weights old and pieces falling off. Changing rooms not pleasant...

From the moment you step through the huge sliding doors of this health spa you will realise you are entering the essence of modern, stylish Barcelona. With an abundance of polished wood and glass every element of this space speaks elegance and relaxation.. The gym does not target body builders and the more serious weight lifters but if you want to relax and be pampered before launching yourself on the city's nightlife then we strongly recommend a visit to Holmes Place Balmes...this is our favourite health club of this type.

This gym complex is huge and located right down near to the beaches and jogging areas along the front of the ports. A basic gym with all of the equipment you need for a good workout.
